Question about uniform storage

I wanted to get some input from other uniform collectors regarding the use of the vacuum sealed bags for use in storing spare shirts, pants, overseas hats and some uniforms to help save space. Specifically the space saver bags you fill and suck the air out of with your vacuum cleaner. What material is safe to store in them and what is not. I have hear that wool needs to breath so I was wondering if these vacuum sealed bags would hurt them?

Thanks for you help in advance,

Robert

on one hand the sealing will keep pests out. On the other hand it also may casue a humidity issue inside.

And something not often thought about is that it will create creases where the fabric folds. Over time this will cause stress on those locations and filaments will weaken or break at those points. Probably not in our lifetime, but time flies pretty quickly.

I'm not sure of the issue with the material deplasticizing, but maybe someone is aware of a study on that.
