skio Posted April 16, 2012 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2012 Picked up a ton of stuff at this weekends show in Biloxi MS. These are a few of the patches I found. I could use some help with the VT Flight number patches and the Upducks patch. Will post some of the other stuff in the next couple of days. All comments welcome! skio Posted April 16, 2012 Author Share #2 Posted April 16, 2012 Does or did the Navy divide the sqdns into flights like the USAF does? Have never come across the flight number patches before. Any guess on a time frame on any of these?
skio Posted April 16, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted April 16, 2012 Can anyone provide info on this one? It looks like HS-8 but a web search turned up nothing. Tried 3, 5, 6 and 9 in place of the 8 and still came up empty. The AF also has me guessing.
Johnny Signor Posted April 16, 2012 Share #4 Posted April 16, 2012 HS-8 could be 60's -70's era ,Helicopter Antisubmarine 8 is the actual way it would be called I believe , try that era . For the VT's patches try googling US Navy Flight Training units , they all look to be older 60-70's era to me ................................ Johnny The spiked mace going after the "sub" patch is most likely a VP unit not a VT type .

DaveP Posted April 17, 2012 Share #10 Posted April 17, 2012 Steve, I believe your GAM-77 Hound Dog patch is associated with the 17th Airborne Missile Maint Sq. Of course it could be connected to other squadrons as well. See link below. Cheers, Dave http://www.ammsalumni.org/html/17th_amms_-...atterson_a.html
