Info on CLSS Patches?

[Old B-1]

I am trying to identify each of the Combat Logistics Support Squadron (CLSS) in the USAF. The 4-Digit, the 3-Digit, and the relation between each of these.

I'm finding it hard to tell which is which and the history to which ones. I heard rumor that the stars are in relation to the last digit of the 4-Digit squadron.

Such as the 654th CLSS having 3 stars -- relation may be to the 2953rd CLSS

 

Let me be more specific. I am after information on the 654th and the 507th. (I know these to be B-1 related)

I am trying to find out if any of the other CLSS's may be B-1 related. Any help would be greatly appreciated. --- Rick (Old B-1)

 

If anyone needs some info on these squadrons...I have collected many different airframes worth of information.

2951st CLSS = 652nd CLSS McClellan AFB California, one star on patch, aircraft: F-111, FB-111

2952nd CLSS = 649th CLSS Hill AFB Utah, two stars on patch, aircraft: F-105, F-16, A-10

2953rd CLSS = 654th CLSS Tinker AFB Oklahoma, tree stars on patch, aircraft: F-111, B-1

2954th CLSS = 651st CLSS Kelly AFB Texas, four stars on patch

2955th CLSS = 653rd CLSS Robins AFB Georgia, five stars on patch, aircraft: F-15

 

no stars on the patches

 

401st CLSS Wright Patterson AFB Ohio

402nd CLSS Robins AFB Georgia

403rd CLSS = 507th CLSS Tinker AFB Oklahoma, aircraft: B-1

404th CLSS Kelly AFB Texas

 

 

the 649th CLSS Detatchment 1 is out of Kadena AB Okinawa
