tigerfan Posted June 8, 2011 #1 Posted June 8, 2011 Just picked up this WWI era model 5 US experimental helmet. It is in very nice condition and probably never worn/issued. Just shows very light wear from storage. Notice the leather makers mark that is stamped on the inner liner band. I will let the photos tell the rest.
Jack's Son Posted June 8, 2011 #3 Posted June 8, 2011 R, Is that a mini-model?? I have one that is much larger then the one that is pictured. Maybe I'm going blind faster then I think!! If you don't mind, I've posted a picture. I will ask for it to be removed if it bothers you. What do you think??
tigerfan Posted June 8, 2011 Author #4 Posted June 8, 2011 No problem, yours looks like it may be a model 5A.
Jack's Son Posted June 8, 2011 #5 Posted June 8, 2011 No problem, yours looks like it may be a model 5A. Yes it is a 5A.
carrabassett Posted June 8, 2011 #6 Posted June 8, 2011 Both are awesome helmets! Thanks for sharing.
37thguy Posted June 8, 2011 #7 Posted June 8, 2011 The other one shown is a 5a, it was mine when that pic was taken. That is a VERY nice exp! Whats your plan, keeping it?
sgtdorango Posted June 8, 2011 #9 Posted June 8, 2011 Wow!...both are cool, but that model 5 looks super nice!!....never see the liner looking that perfect!....mike
HoovieDude Posted June 8, 2011 #11 Posted June 8, 2011 Mmmmm, yummy. I had the chance awhile to grab one that wasn't anywhere in the shape of this one, and I wish I would have! But this one is killer!
