Superb images...thanks for sharing! What is that wierd bayonet on the carbine?! I've never seen one like it before! Surely, it's not an "experimental" issue item...is it?!

That should read "carbine bayonet" (singular), as only one appears, over and over again. This was the personal invention/affectation of the Bn cdr, Edson "Little Ceasar" Raff.
