alex-lux-2008 Posted November 11, 2009 #1 Posted November 11, 2009 Hello all I'm new on this Forum I'm searching for some people owning a Dodge WC 55 and who can help me with a max of informations so that I can restorate mine as original as possible. If someone can help me with some pictures, details or measurments of the fixing for the shovel and axe, the ammoboxes, rationbox, brackets for the rifles. Everything is welcome
ordnance Posted November 12, 2009 #3 Posted November 12, 2009 Alex-Lux, Always nice to hear of another surviving WC-55. Does your truck have any of the unique WC-55 parts remaining? Or any of the holes added for the various accessories? Mine had only the straight running board on the driver's side and the tail gate drilled for the cleaning rod brackets. I should be able to help with some of the hole location dimensions but will have to look for some sketches I made many years ago. In the meantime, here are a couple links to my photo storage site with WC-55 related images: WC-55 Ammo boxes and misc. photos WC-55 tires The ammunition storage boxes have been reproduced by John Bizal at Midwest Military but I think he is sold out and is not inclined to make more without another large order lined up. He is still planning to make scabbard brackets and ration boxes but don't think he has started yet.
alex-lux-2008 Posted November 12, 2009 Author #4 Posted November 12, 2009 Thank you for your replys these were the pictures that I found some time ago. :w00t: concerning the ammoboxes i have seen them at Midwest Military but did not ask yet if there are some left. unfortunately my Dodge missed a lot of parts, so i am searching the right parts to get it back to a real WC-55. I have three things that prove that I have a WC-55, the serial number, the ordnance number and the reinforcements on the rear part of the truck, where the anti tank gun was mounted on. the rest is missing. :crying: currently i'm restoring the frame, and I'm searching for the missing parts. I have found the rear body in a good condition but i'm still missing a lot of parts. http://mcs.akki.lu/pictures/dodgewc55.jpg following this link you can see what my WC55 looked like when I bought it.(and this picture is not showing the bad places of the truck) a lot of work to do  seems that this one was rebuild to a WC52 it's difficult to find some informations about the WC-55 on the web, I hope there are more people on the web who own a WC-55 and are sharing their informations and pictures with us. would be nice if I could find these tires somewhere  Alex
