This also came with the same group. Any ideas what it is? Maybe the wrong area, but thought I would chance it ;)
He was a fighter pilot in the CBI.
Thanks! JD

Cool set of wings - sorry I cannot offer any info on the 2 letter mark... initials of the maker?

Thanks John. I'm not sure. His squadron worked closely with the Chinese people. Initials of the maker makes sense.?.

Very nice! I love the CBI stuff, I also think the makers initials are most likely your best bet. The pin looks Mao-ist

Hello,

I have a friend in my lab who is Chinese. He kindly helped read the Chinese on the badge. He thinks it is a membership badge for someone who was attending an "anti-Japanese war" University #4. So this is more than likely either a membership badge, certificate, or perhaps some sort of ID badge for someone who was attending the #4 military school or university during WWII. But no idea what they would have been teaching or training at this school. Could be a technical school, a OCS or ROTC-type facility, or some sort of advanced or specialized training.

If they came with the pilots wings, it could be something aviation related, but again, no indication of that.

The little man is walking over the Japanese flag with the rising sun being broken into 2.

Also, I would suspect that the "initials" are more than likely something related to the maker of the wings rather than the owner. If you were going to personalize wings, one would expect a bit more effort perhaps? But who really knows?

Neat items

Thanks alot for the info Patrick. These items are a small part of a group from a 16th F.S. pilot. He was shot down in combat, and lived with Chinese rebels for 3 months until he finally, with their help made it back to the 16th base.

I'll be posting the rest of the group on the forum soon. There are more badges, tons of photos, patches, jacket, paperwork, pilots school class books, newspaper articles about being a evader, ect........

Thanks again,

JD
