Answered an ad from Craigslist and came home with the following. The lady said some items were from her Grand Father who was in WWII and brought some items home and some from her Father who collected military stuff. She could not tell me which was which.

 

First the insignia. If anyone is knowledable in WWII German items, I could use some help in determining if these are authentic or not. Please PM me if you can help.

 

The WWI Victory Medal has a small maltese cross on the ribbon. Can anyone shed some light if this is normal and what exactly it stands for?

 

Is the razor a military issue item?

 

What is the small bronze badge? Nicly made and reads "Old North Stae,Charlotte 1929" and pictures a crossed musket and sabre within a larual wreath and is the shape of the state of North Carolina. I can provide a better pic if needed.

The stove will normally have a US and date on the Lid in the center.I have seen others marked COLEMAN on the lid but I believe these were post war marked and sold for resale for sporting and hunting markets.

WWI mess kit and a few untinsels. Some of them are stamped. One fork has 1st BN HQ CO and a 44 under the US,one spoon with HQ 112 and the 1917 knife looks to have BA 6 A crudely scratched on the handle. Sorry but my camera could not bring them out any better.

Hey Ron,

I looked at the lid again and it has no markings. Flipped it upside down and lo and behold it is marked "US C**M*G,Co 1945"! I should have caught that!! Thanks!

They are great little stoves.I have heard of people still using them after a re-build.I had one a while back that was dated on the bottom of the carrier

It looks like you got a great haul, of course it depends on what you paid, but from the pics, it all looks legit. Several of those nazi badges have been repoped, not really for great value, but because they can........

The lighters and the cockpit laights are cool too. :thumbsup: Dave

I have some 3rd Reich stuff, from what I can see (from your picture) it looks legit, I see (L to R, T to B ) an Iron Cross, Bronze War Merit Badge, some sort of clasp badge I cant tell what it is, Bronze Sports badge, Black Combat Wound Badge, Fire Brigade medal, RAD pin, and what looks to be a campaign medal, and a Cuff Title.

 

It sounds like with all the 3R and US stuff, you made out like a feind!

I have one of these stoves that I found on the back of a 5 ton when I was in the USMC back in the early 90's Great little stoves, they run off of just about anything I think.

The maltese cross on the WWI victory medal is worn by members of the USMC ,Medical corps, and Navy who served with the American Expeditionary Forces in france from 6 April to 11 November 1918. To qualify for the device personnel must not qualify for any battle clasps as issued by the Army. I got this from The Call of Duty Book.
