WW1 wings on a brass plaque

I got this WW1 aircraft clock the other day it had a brass plaque with these Prop and wing that I guess were early collar device for the Air Service In WW1 here is a photo of the plaque and clock.

Those look like standard WWII era officer's collar brass.

The engraving on the plaque is machine engraved, which means it was done after WWII. My guess is the clock was attached to the piece of wood sometime in the 60's or 70's. It looks like a .999 silver content Franklin mint ingot bar on the front as well. The prop is WWII vintage without a doubt.

WWI wasnt called WWI either until after WWII started.

 

I love the clock! The clock is real and I am sure I am sure the display was made as a souvenir much later. Back in the 1980's my Dad and I took a WWII aircraft clock and put it in a block of wood for display.

Hi Paul the wings are brass the prop is silver on the plaque.Are you sure it's WW2 era on the plaque and thanks for the info.
