pconrad02 Posted September 13, 2010 #2 Posted September 13, 2010 River rat, Those look like standard WWII era officer's collar brass. WWI insignia look like this: Paul
KASTAUFFER Posted September 13, 2010 #3 Posted September 13, 2010 The engraving on the plaque is machine engraved, which means it was done after WWII. My guess is the clock was attached to the piece of wood sometime in the 60's or 70's. It looks like a .999 silver content Franklin mint ingot bar on the front as well. The prop is WWII vintage without a doubt. Here is a similar ingot for sale: http://www.myaston.com/k/?view=item&id...+Art+Bar+Ingot+ http://pics.amres.com/p_asp/m2186.asp WWI wasnt called WWI either until after WWII started. I love the clock! The clock is real and I am sure I am sure the display was made as a souvenir much later. Back in the 1980's my Dad and I took a WWII aircraft clock and put it in a block of wood for display. Kurt
