Just Picked this up, an Ex POW grouping from Lillier H.J. Delcambre from Louisiana. From my research he passed away in 1992 and was told these medals were presented to him by a Senator or Governor of LA where he was from. I read somewhere he was captured in December 1944 around the Battle of the Bulge and was mechanized recon with the 117th cavalry. In the group in the original Stalag ID tag, named PH, named Good Conduct, and the rest of the campaign medals and such. On the back of the tag has some type of inscription, maybe Sgt. Stripes or something only known to him. I dont know how old the medals are but definitely post war issued. If anyone has any information about this man that would be great. Couldnt find too much about him but he and his family may have a serious influence in Southern Louisiana. Thanks and good to keep memories alive.

Thank you, this is great information. I wish I could find a picture of him. Do you know which division the 117th was attached to?

Thank you. The family came in and wanted to get rid of it. I know it was presented to him by a government official

The best source would be the morning reports for his specific unit which may note his capture or his missing status.
