Other than the tie to USMC airborne troops, the knife is relatively plain, not very impressive, and one that years ago most of us would have walked by, or ignored. Rare they are, but the prices being asked are very high. Way beyond my desire to own one. I just never had any interest in one. Have actually only handled one of these in 52 years of collecting, so agree with lack of availability. Hope someone buys, and enjoys it. SKIP

I agree that these knives are plain and yes, overpriced.

I believe most were used for training and not for combat, although like everything, there probably were some examples used.

If not for the "USMC" marking on the blade one would expect to find it more at home in a fishing box or tool box.
