partially lined six color desert bdu shirt

I recently purchased this six color bdu shirt which has a lining in the upper back of shirt. Was this an early pattern? The shirt also has an EGA on upper left pocket.

Hi, iirc was that an early version. But the lining was often cut out because of the heat jam at this part of the back.
After Desert Storm i saw many coats without the lining in our local surplus stores. Looks good for an '84 dated coat ☺

I have heard it called a sweat shield, not sure if that is right. It was deleted in 1990 along with the elbow reinforcement to speed up production
