shadawg Posted February 6, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2019 I thought this one was interesting enough to share. A pretty standard usn m1 repaint, late war westinghouse liner, with green buckle united carr strap. The liner is named, however is difficult to read out. The real interesting thing about this helmet in particular is that it is heat stamped 467 A under the front brim, and then again, 466 A to the rear. I have a decent few schlueters in my collection, and have realized that the quality control was a little off at times, but it is interesting seeing the timing off on the stamping, especially when it changes to a completely different code. a real missing link in a moment of time for fabrication. 644td Posted February 7, 2019 Share #5 Posted February 7, 2019 The helmet may be common but she looks good and nice pictures to boot. The double heat stamp with different does make it very interesting. New one to me. Marty
