SgtMaddoxUSMC Posted January 19, 2015 #1 Posted January 19, 2015 (Not sure if this is an appropriate section for this post, if not Mods please move)Was taking a close look at some of my USMC pins. Haven't seen anything with kind of catch before. I originally thought it was just a C-catch but notice now it has a strange locking piece maybe a precursor to the roller-catch? Check it out and tell me what you think.
SgtMaddoxUSMC Posted January 22, 2015 Author #2 Posted January 22, 2015 Anyone seen one like this at all? I thought it was interesting, but I figure someone has to know more about it! I have a handfull of these QM wheels and this is the only one with this style catch...
Brig Posted February 2, 2015 #3 Posted February 2, 2015 It's known as the 'Tiffanys Clasp', because it was commonly used by Tiffanys & Co jewelers. However, other firms used it, as well, particularly H&H
SgtMaddoxUSMC Posted February 2, 2015 Author #4 Posted February 2, 2015 Ahh gotcha. I had never seen a clasp like that before. Good to know!
