everforward Posted November 28, 2019 #64 Posted November 28, 2019 My contribution, which will be exactly 101 years ago on this Thanksgiving Day, 2019. Pretty good dinner for just about two weeks after the Armistice. The two place cards were for Colonel Huggins, the 29th Division Surgeon, and Lt. Col. Finley of the 113th Infantry.

224 - Kathleen Posted January 7, 2022 #74 Posted January 7, 2022 POELAU LAUT Thanksgiving Menu - 21 November 1943. Another sparse menu. My grandfather was aboard the Dutch transport vessel en route to the Pacific, likely ending up in the Solomon Islands, near Fighter 2 (Kukum Field), Guadalcanal. However, I am not positive. Any further information on the ship, the route and the disembarkation would be greatly appreciated. USAAF 18th FG, 12th FS (1943-1945).
