Hello, I would be grateful for help in identifying these stools, which I bought about 10 years ago in the UK.

I haven't been able to find any info or pics of service use. The stool stands 12 inch by 12 inch.

The Army has specs and regulations for everything, even stools.

'Private? Are your stools to specification?"

"Yes Sergeant"

"well, eat lots of fiber and keep them that way"

(sorry).

That's an Army Air Force contract number from pre-1944.

thanks RobinB, I wonder if there might be something about them in the AAF Manual? Have been looking for a copy of QM 3-4, in the hope there might be something in there, nothing in QMs 3-1, 3-2 or 3-3, or Med3.

Have to keep looking.

Your stools are Army Air Corps, not QM. You won't find them in the QM catalogs.

I have similiar ones but dated 1968,plywood top and basic folding frame as these but made of tubing.

I was told they(mine) were part of the field desk sets the military had.

The stools used with the 1945 Field Desk and Medics Clerk set appear to stand taller than mine, possibly 18inch tall. As RobinB has said mine are AAF, but it would be good to see something in print.
