paul_bish Posted August 17, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2010 well the dust has settled after War & peace though everything I own is still covered in Beltring dust...I have had chance to soft through the 4,000 pictures we took and have updated our site. Thought you folks might like to see the results and forgive the long post; Team Room Display: This year we decided to build a team house, loosely based on Snowden hall at CCC. Kontum. It was a wooden structure with wooden floor, electric and bar. We recreated a picture from Jason Hardy's first book as well Our bar http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_general.htm http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_setup.htm Brightlight Mission: We thought a tribute to the SOG Brightlight missions would be a good idea this year, so we got a Phantom pilot and shoot and went off to the woods http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_brightlight.htm http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_brightlight_bw.htm
paul_bish Posted August 17, 2010 Author Share #2 Posted August 17, 2010 Navy Seals: We also tried our hand at a Navy Seal shoot. Its our fist time so sure we have a few things wrong. Good fun to get wet though!!! http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_SEAL_vintage.htm http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_SEAL.htm SOG Late War "Running Heavy": In these shots you will note we have some members with green and brown spray added to the regular black spray painted camo, this was something one of the SOG vets (John Good) we are contact with said they did if they had the paint to hand. Works really well in the bush! http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_late.htm SOG through Time: Tuesday at the show was Schools Day so we thought a depiction of SOG from 1965 through to 1972 would be educational, so we have Swedish Ks through to Uzis. http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_ages.htm
paul_bish Posted August 17, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted August 17, 2010 SOG Halo Team: This has always been an area that interests me so we thought it would be sensible to rig me up in the gear, on the hottest day of the show! I was rigged by an ex-para but sure we have some items wrong as UK HALO equipment is different to the US and SOG were doing these combat jumps pre HALO manual. Still looking for a few items as well if anyone has these? * Czech sourced KAP III timer for automatic release of the chute * Lowering line adapter web * Altimeter mount http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_HALO.htm SASR F Troop 2 Sqn: OK not US troops represented but lots of US gear used...We revisited our Australian shoot from last year, we few new custom made items such as the modified suspenders patterned after those used by Don Barnby of F Troop 2 Sqn SASR, these held 10 rounds for the M203 grenade launcher he carried. http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_ASASR.htm http://www.modernforces.com/warpeace_2010_ASASR_vintage.htm Please forgive the self indulgence and promotion here, its all done in tribute to those who fell. /p
