Very interesting Span Am era cap badge.  Anyone know what this is?

Not US. The only "W" that I know would be Wales.

Certainly not US Army, but it has an American "look" to it.  More often than  not, a screw back on older insignia means US.  Other countries tended to favor other means of affixing their insignia.

I wonder if it is a school being that the design encompasses two branches (crossed rifles for infantry, cannon for artillery)

But just a guess.  I hope someone knows what it is, as I am very curious about it.

Perhaps a state guard badge, e.g. Wyoming, Washington, Wisconsin.
