Here is a pair worn by the Boston School Regiment, probably pre-1886 with the blue fields. Believe they once had attaching devices sewn on the reverse. Anyone have a similar set with the devices intact?

I saw those for sale and thought the price was extremely reasonable.  Interesting that the buttons are staff buttons rather than engineers “Essayons” buttons.
