scottiques Posted August 17, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2020 Just got in this unusual 1890s image that clearly shows two 1890s era Marines. The marine on the left is armed with a revolver and also has a medal and ribbon on his chest. The marine on the right is giving the orders-- not sure what is on his chest? It does appear to be an Eagle in the center. On the table between the two is a USMC spiked helmet. Scott
Dirk Posted August 18, 2020 Share #2 Posted August 18, 2020 Looks like a set of Corporal stripes in front of the helmet. Probbaly a warrant for Corporal under the stripes and I am guessing the other Marine has a copy of his discharge paper. A play on reenlistment perhaps

Brig Posted August 18, 2020 Share #4 Posted August 18, 2020 Looks more like "put your stripes on my desk and GTFO" I think the badge might be a SpanAm veteran piece. Great image

scottiques Posted August 18, 2020 Author Share #9 Posted August 18, 2020 Here are a few close up photos-- didn't come out that great, but it may help someone in determining the badge and the ribbon/ medal. Any thoughts or information is appreciated. Thanks. Scott
