Now this is a BIG badge:

Probably made for a going away plaque for someone stationed at Camp Butler, Okinawa.

Here’s a pretty standard USAF Security Police badge with a South Korean Air Force one next to it:

It’s pretty clear that the USAF design  elements have influenced the South Korean version.

Thanks for the new posts.  I haven't back in a while but I found this wonderful badge today.  Los Alamitos CA. From what I read they trained pilots there staring in 1942.  The pin catch is WWII period (my opinion).   The badge measures 2 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches wide.  Made by L.A. Stamp & Stationary Company.  One of my new favorites.  IMG_2626.JPG.a6210149537714ba179e8ac844b95f75.JPGIMG_E2627.JPG.0f5aa2a90b31681b83a304e93819337b.JPG

Los Alamitos Naval Air Station from 1942 - 1973 (now JFTB Los Alamitos) and assigned to Cal Guard. I live about 2 blocks from it...

Cool old picture, Bluehawk! Here’s a screw-back hat badge that almost looks like a belt buckle

This has the look of a badge made in one of the base’s shops:

Thanks, jmd62, this set is from the same agency that produced the obsolete badge sets in Posts # 142 and # 143.

Hamilton Field was an AAF and USAF airfield in Marin County, CA. This badge is circa WWII:

This is one of these “I’ve got the badge somewhere” things:

Don’t know why I have the book stored in with the badges, while the badge has apparently gone ‘walkabout’.

Whoa.  Slow down there cobra.  I can't keep up.  Here's a WWII period Fire Captain War Department Corps Of Engineers.  Looks well used.

Nice one, mds308. An anniversary badge to start the day:

And in related badge news it seems that now challenge coins are being made in badge bottle opener shapes:

I’ve now seen such coins for Army CID, Marine CID, NCIS, and OSI. Haven’t seen CGIS yet, but I’m sure one is out there!

That is a WWII badge, jmd62. That depot opened in 1942 and at one point even had POWs working there.

This is interesting: the control number at the bottom of the badge almost appears to be for an MOS, yet “5811” is the main basic Marine military policeman MOS:

Perhaps it’s not an MOS, but the last four of a service number or SSN.
