I am told that this is an engine cover from a Wright Cyclone engine and that it roughly measures 8 3/4" x 3 1/4". Anyone know if it is in fact from the engine and where specifically it is located ? Thanks....

I did a lot of looking and could find no Wright radials with a rocker arm cover like that. Can't think of, or find, any other place on the engine that would have a cover like that. I am still thinking a rocker arm cover but perhaps just a shipping cover for a cylinder and not an in-service item? In my working career many moons ago as an airline mechanic we had a fleet of DC-3's and one C-47. They all had P&W 1830's except one which had the Wright 1820. It has been a long time ago, but I just can't come up with any place on that motor, or accessories, that had a cover like that.

Check out my website of Military Relics and Collectibles: http://www.ourboysof98.com
I try to update it by adding several new items each month, so keep checking back.
