RichRaider Posted July 5, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 5, 2019 When I was a kid, I remember running around surplus stores that actually stockpiled surplus equipment. My grand father owned a surplus store/gun shop in Rosewell, NM after WWII. He would take me around to other shops in the state and educate me on military equipment. Most surplus stores these days sell knock off Chinese military equipment. On the 4th, I found a nice little shop in Southern California that remind me of my youth. I found these two Mitchell covers in a pile of about 20 and walked away with them for $15. From what I found, they are dated 1969. Im sure the markings are a mystery, but any ideas from the forum would be interesting to know.

RichRaider Posted July 5, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted July 5, 2019 There is also some graffiti on the first cover. ATB his/hers initials on front, her L name and first initial on the side, LADY Rose on the back, and his/her first name around a heart shape cut out on the cover. Blueprint Posted July 5, 2019 Share #11 Posted July 5, 2019 Great covers! What a find! Love the heart-shaped cut. Gives the cover much character and would be even nicer to look at on an M1 shell. Blueprint
