tigerfan Posted June 29, 2015 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2015 Does anyone know what this uniform is?. The collar insignia with the dolphins reads: Resurgam in the scroll at the bottom. Thanks.

B229 Posted June 29, 2015 Share #3 Posted June 29, 2015 1st Maine Volunteer Infantry, first organized at Portland in 1861. The collar insignia is the coat of arms of the city of Portland. C Company was known as the Portland Light Guards. I'd assume the uniform dates from sometime around the turn of the last century, but I'm far from an expert on uniforms of this period. tigerfan Posted June 29, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted June 29, 2015 Thanks for the ID. I agree the coat appears to be from the Span Am - pre WWI era.
