WWIIDADS Posted December 28, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 28, 2013 Just found this wonderful 7th Regiment Cavalry Troop C Camp Cup, hand carved of River or Hill Cane (American Bamboo). The pithy interior carved out with a chisel. The old dried crackled finish is intact over entire surface including into the hand carved 7th Cavalry "C" Unit Insignia. About 3 1/2" tall, 3 1/8" to 3 1/4" rim diameter, and 3 1/4" to 3 3/8" diameter base. Natural shrinkage crack notable on front. I believe this to be an 1870's Indian Wars treasure. WWIIDADS Posted September 22, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted September 22, 2018 When doing family Civil War research recently, I found that this cup is earlier than expected, and was actually made for a family cousin, Casper Branner, Company C, 7th Virginia Cavalry, CSA. To me, much more dear!!!
