Got this one today can't figure out if it good or not.

Shirt is heavy wool construction probably tailored from the quality and weight.

I beleive it says 17th RCN (or RGN) with a 92nd buffalo minature patch sewn over top.

Normally I would see armored triangles over the left pocket but this is over the right pocket.

7th is cut edge and does not glow, the buffalo and edges of the armored patch do but I figure tthis for a post korea shirt anyway.

please give me your thoughts

At the risk of sounding like a Dumba$$ What is the significance of Buffalo??

If this was Viet Nam era the Army was fully integrated... on paper weren't they?

Yes they were, and the Buffalo is the insignia of the 10th Cavalry

The unit that wore this patch ca. 1960 was Reconnaissance Platoon, 1st Battle Group, 17th Infantry (7ID). A recon platoon was organic to the Combat Support Company of the "Pentomic" Battle Group (TOE 7D, Infantry Division, 1960). The buffalo symbolism comes from 17th Infantry's DI (authorized May 1952, samples approved March 1953) and 17th Infantry has been known as the "Buffaloes" since long before that.

The counterpart patch for ca. 1960 2nd Reconnaissance Squadron, 10th Cavalry (7ID) looks like this.

And to see period pix of 1/17th Recon. Plat. troops wearing the same patch (and 17th Inf. DI) link here.

I stand corrected, I was given bad imfo.

I didn't realize the 17th Inf added a buffalo to their crest

I only have a picture of the WW2 crest W/out the buffalo
