Paul, are you looking for the older Italeri hard cab version or the newer soft cab version RSO (Dragon maybe)?

This is a shot of the old hard cab RSO from Italeri. Is this what you were referring to?

Hey Wayne, is that one of yours?

I've always really liked the hard cab RSO. very neat little vehicles. Tons of diorama possibilites too. I've got two of the hard cabs in my stash and someday, someday, maybe I'll build one!

This one was buried in my stash from long long ago... Not one of my constructs, though I own it. Some family donated a Veteran's collecting of a few hundred kits to the local AMPS chapter and we were all given a chance to pick the ones we wanted. I'm happy the tarp Frame on this one has survived the moves between then and now though. Somewhere I have a photograph of one from the Shinsheim Autotechnik Museum in Sinsheim, Germany. I'll have to see if I can find it and post it. That place isnt very well lit inside, so most of the pictures are dark. I'd still like to go back and find one of the other RSO kits... I think Italeri did one with a PaK 40 as well and I think whoever said Dragon had one is right... I think it too is the one with the PaK 40 as well. I'll have to dig.

Okay, here is what I am finding available in stock at www.greatmodels.com for the RSO (Raupenschlepper Ost):

Revell Germany 1/35th scale REV03067 RSO with Pak 40 $36.50

This kit includes the RSO with a square sided cab and separate PaK 40

Dragon 1/35th scale DML6640 7.5cm PaK 40/4 auf RSO Listed as future release.

This kit is basically a flatbed RSO with skeletonized cab and PaK 40 mounted on the rear platform.

While these are the only two kits listed of the full kit, there are several crew figure sets from Warriors, some detail sets from Eduard a Cab conversion set from Azimut and other odds and ends like track sets by Model kasten and friulmodel. At the main page for the site, type in the search window "RSO" and hit enter and scroll through the results to take a look at the full listings.

Hope this helps!!!

Hi all! I am actually looking for the MEGA rare canvas top that is made for the rso by a company that is now defunct. The company was called trakz. They made a resin canvas top for the Italeri kit. I don't want to make one because it is major work to do so. If anyone has a lead or has one hidden away I would love to purchase one.

Thanks!

Paul

Hi Ho! I did some research and thought I would pass it along. Warriors/Trakz has been bought up by www. squadron.com. I emailed them and asked if they were going to produce the canvas covers again. They said it was highly unlikely. They have been discontinued for about two years and it looks thin at best to see them again. The site does carry some the products.

Oh well going to go buy some 2 part epoxy now and get building!!!

Caio for now,

Paul
