Mr. Pink Posted October 23, 2009 #1 Posted October 23, 2009 Hi everyone, I recently finished this Thunderbolt not too long ago. It was fun building it and I have to say the P-47 is in my opinion the best looking warbird of it's time. I still have a few of them in various scales in my stash and I am looking forward building every single one of them. Heli
doyler Posted October 23, 2009 #3 Posted October 23, 2009 Mr.Pink Thats an awesome looking model of the P47.Superb detail.Well done. She looks ready to take off and go hunting!! RON
The Meatcan Posted October 23, 2009 #4 Posted October 23, 2009 great looking Jug! cool weathering job too. What kit and scale is this? thanks for sharing your nice work  Terry
Mr. Pink Posted October 24, 2009 Author #5 Posted October 24, 2009 Thanks guys! I am glad you like the T-bolt. Terry, it was teh hasegawa 1/48th scale kit. I have to say, not the best kit, there was a lot of putty and sanding required and therefore of course a lot of engraving of new panel lines etc. However it was fun building it and she doesn't look all too bad. tar00 Posted October 24, 2009 #6 Posted October 24, 2009 What did you use for the nmf? It looks really good by the way.
Mr. Pink Posted October 24, 2009 Author #7 Posted October 24, 2009 Hi tar00 Not sure what nmf stands for.
FNG Posted October 25, 2009 #8 Posted October 25, 2009 Hi tar00 Not sure what nmf stands for. natural metal finish Cool model!
Mr. Pink Posted October 25, 2009 Author #9 Posted October 25, 2009 Ohhhhh, thanks FNG! I used two different metal sades of the Alclad paint line. I think it was dark chrome and chrome silver or something like that. Those paints are great but they do require a lot of pre work in order to apply them. However definitely worth the extra work.
