I picked this up a while ago. I notice in period ww2 photos the scabards dont have the metal tip. Was this a post war modification or what ?

Sorry for the novice question but I am more of a badge than bayonet kind of guy !

Probably post-war or foreign modification. Nice cutdown bayonet though.

I began to see these scabbards with the metal tip about 1990. I was never able to determine exactly where they came from, but believe they were an Argentine modification. However, I certainly am not positive about that and am open to changing that view if someone has more accurate information.
