fighting knife ?

Bought this knife from Tolly from the previous post. Can any of you guys identify it? It looks like a Case, but I'm just not sure--its unmarked. The sheath is a replacement. Thanks for your help.

MP44-It's a Case 562-6" Sticking knife. I guess it was used in slaughter houses for cattle. According to Cole's BK 3 pg 72, it was not a contract knife, but poplar w/ the troops. Your sheath is very close to the one pictured in the book. SKIP

If so, it would be the second variation with the brass rivets. MP44, are the sides grooved? It bothers me that it's not marked "CASE."

Other than the basic shape, it doesn't look like a Case or an EK to me. Just a nice looking dagger. The sheath looks nice too.

Thanks for the replies.The knife has no groves,it is very sharp.Think I will go with the first plan and send it to Iraq next month with my son.Thanks for all the help.

Sorry to say but its a recent knife. Made by Blackjack under the EK name in the mid 90's. I have catalog around here somewhere which shows the knife and the sheath is original. I will try and get pics of the catalog and post them.
