FYI, this is Curtesy of the work provided to us by our late friend "Bayonetman".

NORD 8114 is the Navy Ordinance contract number for your sheath.  This specific contract was issued in March 1945 for 672000 units total, consisting of both MK1 and MK2 sheaths.

Is it possible to say if the sheath is the correct one for the knife so to speak?

The time frame for guard marked Navy MK2's and the contract date for the sheath would put them in line for possibly being mated with each other at the factory for delivery.
