Does anyone recognize the markings on this 37mm projectile? Can anyone also tell if this is even US ordnance, or when it might date from? Any help is appreciated!

AM- Do you have access to: A GUN FOPR ALL NATIONS The 37mm Gun & Ammunition?  It is by Robert A. Mellichamp in two volumes.  The dates are v.1 1870-1913 & v. 2 1914-1926. The set goes to about 1500 pages and I think your projectile would fit in this period.  I had no idea there were that many different 37mm projectiles.
