Chief D Posted November 9, 2019 #3 Posted November 9, 2019 General question that someone can help me out. I searched the forum. Im sure that it is on here somewhere. How do you tell which branch of service O7 and above collar stars belong to? Thanks in advance.
dskjl Posted July 18, 2020 Author #4 Posted July 18, 2020 If any of the rounded style and any sterling stars are available for sale please send me a pm. be safe
Ron Merchant Posted October 20, 2020 #5 Posted October 20, 2020 Along the same lines as earlier posts on this topic is how to tell which service various metal rank insignia are for. Are Army and Air Force identical? If not how do you tell them apart? How about Navy and Marines (except for the rank name differences between them)? I know that Marine 2nd LT., 1st Lt and Captain insignia do NOT have beveled edges like Army and USAF do and the Major and Lt. Major for Marines have reduced or no veins compared to Army and USAF. As for Major General to General, there are Point to Point and Point to Center configurations. When is each used. Also, at least for USAF, there are 1", 3/4" and 5/8" stars. I assume the 5/8" are Collar and Hat wear. How about the others?
