I am attaching some photos of a P1941 jacket, USMC marked with

the mans name and USN above the pocket.

There are no markings on the sleeves.

His name is also marked on the inside bottom.

In the inside neck area is marked the size of #34. No remains of any tag.

I did some research and found the name Ostroski, Eugene listed on

LST's in 1944 and 1945.

His serial number is 642 38 24 and PhM2c and later PhM1c.

Enlistment 08-14-42

Discharge: 10-21-45

So, I have no idea if this belonged to Eugene Ostroski, but he was the

only Pharmacist Mate I could locate with the last name Ostroski.

What do you think about this jacket??

Thanks,

Douglas

John S. Ostroski was a corpsman 1953-54, including time with the 1st MarDiv in 1953. Marking uniforms with that type of pen was much more commonly done in the 1950s, not so much in the 1940s.
