stealthytyler Posted November 10, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2017 From what I have found online, this man was an officer on a combat submarine in the Pacific starting in 1942 after his graduation from Annapolis. From 1946-1947, he was the CO of the sub, Irex SS-482. I am debating whether I should order his records. I am not sure if I will be holding on to these tags for very long as they are not my main focus but I could not pass these up when I saw them. These submarine tags are apparently very hard to find, let alone a commanders dog tags. Enjoy!

Kadet Posted November 10, 2017 Share #4 Posted November 10, 2017 If you plan to sell them, I would leave the record ordering decision to the next owner. Navy records can be quite expensive ($75 or so). If this were a larger, more valuable group I would say pay the money because it adds to the whole. On something small like this, it would only be worth it if you intended to keep the group long term.
