CNY Militaria Posted September 14, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 14, 2014 I picked this lot up last month, that came from the niece in a couple of OD ditty bags, to an antique dealer and then me. It is mostly his paperwork and souvenirs. The dealer told me that the niece said her uncle had brought back the German items from a Soldier he had killed (the one on the ID card). No idea if that is true, and as an MP he might have just dealt with prisoners. This shows only a small part of the group, most of it is double stacked. The German items include a coffin sash, small banner, eagles, photos, pass document, and maps of Nuremberg. Looks like he was in the 505th AAA Battalion and 793rd MP Battalion during the war. Costa Posted September 18, 2014 Share #6 Posted September 18, 2014 DONT BUY THE STORY--- JUST THE ITEMS
CNY Militaria Posted September 18, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted September 18, 2014 You don't have to tell me that Costa...I've been doing this long enough to know this. I shared the story as it is "part of the grouping." Obviously the next owner will buy the items, but the story still travels with it verbally and it is up to the individual to take it with a grain of salt.
