Hello,

 

This nice set came as a grouping, looks to be from around the 80s. Does anyone recognize the small silver USAF emblem as a badge? Also, does anyone recognize what uniform the embroidered missile badge would likely have been worn with? Thanks.

The bullion senior missileman badge was worn on the AF dress blues, it might've also been worn on their mess dress whites but I'm not sure because of the dark felt.

Thanks for that info, I had wondered if it might go with mess dress given it's smaller size.

That's a tie tack that could also double as a lapel pin. Look on back. Is it sterling silver or 1/20 silver filled.

 

The senior missileman's badge is a miniature one worn on the mess dress uniform, which is also where the miniature decorations were worn: AF Commendation Medal and the Combat Readiness Medal.

Thanks for that info it all makes sense it goes together for mess dress. Wonder if minis were worn more than full size medals in the Air Force? Just don't see the full medals worn too often.
