October 17, 200817 yr #1 I recently showed images of squadron patches from this group on another thread, but now have some time to post the rest of the group! http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...c=28728&hl= This is a very complete grouping to Lt Robert Weigand who served in WWII on the USS Monterey with VT-34 flying Avengers and later on the USS Boxer with VF-194 flying Sky Raiders during the Korean War. He earned the Air Medal with 3 Gold Stars and the Commendation Medal with a V device. His Commendation medal was awarded for a specific mission over North Korea . His entire service record is here as well as his medals, insignia , a photo album , flight logbook , scarf , cruisebooks , hat, commisions , Naval Aviator certificate, and more. The only thing I did nto get was his flight jacket and uniforms because they went to GOODWILL and are LONG GONE. ARGHHHHHHHH!!!! Here is a photo of Lt Weigand

IMHO - Korea War groupings are much under-appreciated...many of these gallant servicemen were WWII veterans. May 2, 201016 yr #24 Hello Here is another VT-34 Insignia that is accounted for. This is one of my Dad's, he has several more, plus a handful of reproductions that were made for a squadron reunion circa 1980s. I will be asking him about this bloke, I have met several pilots from VT-34, and this name is not familiar to me. I'm certain Dad has a few squadron rosters. From what I have been told about VT-43s Insignia, these were actually made post-VJ Day, but I cold have heard that wrong, once again, I'll try and remember to ask about this as well. Thanks Mark
