Here's some of the US Navy projects I've worked on. Some of these are from my books. There's a few NBB Beach Battalion shots & aviation pics as well on here;

I also wanted to post these guys. They do early war Philippine Division and I thought they did a great job. About 90% of their stuff was original.

OUTSTANDING shots!! Do me a favor, have your ground crew types put those mechanics aprons away, they weren't used that much and usually only for heavy maintenance such as a major engine repair. Thanks.

Looks good but fat guys like us should wear a four pocket- They're slimming. :)

I have an Ike for special occasions and is set up for Post War. The Four pocket is set up for during the war.

I hadda choice.... a $15 Ike with no buttons... or $125 for a repro four pocket... Ummmm let me seee....... LOL

I took this before heading to the 82nd ABN DIV ASSN convention in Indy this past weekend... I was the only one in Class A... the other members of the unit were in 42s... Still, the Uniform was a big hit... a lot of the older guys were saying the Ike was the favorite Uniform back then. Between that and the M1A1 I have... I was a pretty big hit Saturday.

Original gear:

M1928 Haversack with Meat can pouch (Matching ASN on both)

M1924 1st Aid pouch with Carlisle tin unopened

Canteen and Cover

M1 Ammo Bag

M1936 Musette bag

M1 Helmet (front seam w/Airborne Liner)

Mess kit and untensiles

M1905E1 10" Oneida Limited (PAL MOD)

TL-29 Electricians Knife, wood handled, Camillus

Signal Equipment SE-11 consisting of (Thanks Robinb):

M227 Signal Lamp

M341 Gunstock attachment

J51 Morse Key

Tripod LG-21

Cable Assembly CD-701

Bag, BG-131

Original Weapons:

Springfield Armory M1 Rifle (1955 with a 1943 barrel)

Repro Gear:

M1923 Cartridge belt (ATF)

M1910 Entrenching Tool and cover (ATF)

M1938 Horse Hide Riding Gloves (ATF)

M3 Knife and M6 Scabbard (GC Co. M3 with Camillus M6 Sheath)

Repro Weapon:

Civilian Universal M1 Carbine (early Mil-spec version) with Repro M1A1 Stock and Underwood trigger group(original)

K and D Rations are all repop boxes with modern items repackaged in printed period labels)

K Rations consist of:

Kroger chicken chunks

Graham Crackers (K-1 Buscuits)

Domino Sugar Cubes (wrapped in two cube wrappers)

Nutragrain Strawberry fruit bar wrapped in printed period wrapper

Wrigley's Spearmint Gum re-wrapped in period printed wrapper

D Rations are all edible, made by me, wrapped in shrink wrap and home printed boxes

Hershey's tropical bar is a regular 1 pound hershey bar broken down to size and wrapped in parchment paper and a printed period wrapper.

The Pork Luncheon Meat (SPAM) and Prepared Beef are both Kroger brand with printed period labels. I was surprised that the Kroger brand Corned Beef actually had the turn key opening.

I was asked by so many if I made K Rations to sell... Sighs... I wish I had the financial backing to do that!

A member of my reenacting Unit is the Indy Chapter liaison for the 82nd ABN ASSN, and he said that most of the week the most asked question was, "Why dont you have an M1A1 Carbine?" I took my cobbled together Universal on Saturday and I think it was the most handled weapon there that day. Over all, it was one of the best days I've had since I retired.

I recommend getting a new Ike jacket. Get the same size or go up one, but get it in a L. If the sleeves are too long, have them tailored, and presto, the waist will be covered and your sleeves will be nice and fancily tailored.

Can't say I'm huge on the new run of ATF overseas caps, I tend to wear originals myself.

Rations is my passions....Asking for opinoins?....so many "compromises"....If I done the same with uniforms I would wear the likes of M65 combat jackets, British Army no.1 trousers, Doctor Martens brown boots and Vietnam garrison hats B)

Yer impression with the IKE...Show the tie, put it in a "windsor knot" and not a 1970s knot...and hide the belly (something I have to do aswell ;):P )...I have a fetish for "properly" bloused trousers (folded in a T and tucked into the boots), looks like yours is done this way (?) Unlike ivymp, yours are too long mate, I can see ye folded them back up under? There looks like a good three inches too long?

Oh, and ...Another one, "modern glasses"....

I don't have photos on this compooter, and my PC has crashed...But when I can, I'll post a couple of photos and hopefully you guys can critique me :D In fact, just to give ye an idea: http://www.freewebs.com/fssf-uk/fssflhgphotos.htm

I'd meant to get some photos of my 82nd Abn Div Div MP platoon Impression this past weekend, but as we got to shooting and videotaping, my digital cam sat in the truck unused. Well, anyway, if you would like to see it, and enjoy some live fire of live weapons, not Airsoft or cap guns, check out my myspace... here:

www.myspace.com/pendragon2

Go to the Video section and there are a series of videos there for the M1 Garand, M1A1 Carbine, M1A1 Thompson, M1911, M1903A3, Kar98K, and MP40.

I'm the one in the MP impression. Let me know what you think.
