It's hard to quantify the value of what she did, what Mr. Reagan did or John Paul to make Communism fall. Ideally we would no longer be a peacetime world maintaining a wartime posture but that has all turned out different. Her final procession is worthy of her accomplishments. I have vague remembrances of the interments of the presidents before Ronald Reagan but the day of his funeral I did nothing else but offer the homage as one of his retired troops. I cared not the cost of floating the carrier bearing his name right off the coast for that final fly by. He had been the leader that brought us from the depths of post Vietnam to heights many of us never thought possible. But he could not have done as much as he did on the world stage without the strength of our closest ally in the form of Margaret Thatcher. The US didn't send our greatest representative to see her off because he had already greeted her spiritually. Let me know the PayPal account and I'll send some money.

I'll be showing my respect for him when he eventually expires (hopefully taking his awful wife with him).

April 23, 201313 yr #36 Our politicians. Love them or hate them, or somewhere in between. British, American, French, German, etc... The important thing is our democracy. Not perfect by any means in whatever country we forum members live in. At least, however small our voice, we as individuals have a say. Not like many places around our planet!
April 25, 201313 yr #38 We could use Margaret Thatcher's tenacity today to fight off this new wave of socialism and communism. She would have them running for cover by now. As for the low-lifes who celebrated her death and mocked her in song, she did more for the world in one week than all her protestors will contribute in their life-times. It just shows that socialism has metastasized in Britain as it spreads on our shores as well. They are doomed. Let's hope we can recover.
