So being from Boston and seeing this thread I emailed the guy selling the knife on Craigslist. I don't really think the story about his uncle is legit because he buys and sells a ton of knives locally. But the bayonet is still pretty cool. I bought it for 100. Maybe a little high but I figure it will come in handy for the coming zombie apocalypse.

If you ever pull the grip off ,look for a mark .

I have observed a few different markings .

This is where I got my first m7 knuckle. Now I need to find this magazine knuckle .

While there was a time when you could acquire that M7 knuckle-grip-itself, for $35 > $40; I would most appreciate info on where these knuckle-grips may actually be obtained, TODAY, "for around 40.00-50.00".

While quite-certainly a recast-of-a recast, (also note that they offer "Quantity of 10 grips for +$130").

I suppose that it could be nice to see them @ reasonable price, for those that would like to add a copy of the original, for display purposes.

My dad has one of these knives as well and his has a mark under the grips. His was bought up at the old Columbus, OH OGCA back in the 80's. I posted pics of his a few years back on here.

All this has jogged a long lost memory (unfortunately most of my memory is now long lost...) Somewhere around here I have a very similar handle that I bought from Dale Sandberg at EDMF back in about 1994. I never put it on a knife, and now it's in storage with lots of other stuff from that time.

 

Anyone else remember those?

Dale's knuckle grips are much better quality than the one(s) being discussed here. BTW, for the benefit of the beginner, all these fall in the "fantasy knives" category.

Agreed. Dale makes some nice stuff, and I'm happy to have acquired several of his knives, starting in the early 90s.

Have a few of EDMF versions in my collection.

 

IMO Dales grips can be a bit rough as some of the m7 grips can be but a few of my m7 grips are really finished very nice.

 

After Dales wife passed a while back , he really slowed down and may even not be makeing knives much anymore . I have seen his knives selling for quite a bit lately if they can even be found.

 

Hold on to that grip , they are hard to find.

Yes, it is still possible to find "a good m7 at around 30.00-40.00". Although, a quick-poke-around @ e=Pay, will find that this price-range is also rather 'antiquated'. ...At least for an example that is in any 'sorta-close' to reasonable-high-percentage condition.

Many decent M7s, "found-there", 'Start at, and/or, (BIN)' on the plus-side of $50.
