Thanks, jmd62. What is interesting is that usually (as you can imagine) those paper armbands did not survive. I believe I have one other paper armband somewhere around here. I’ll have to see if I can find it.

The MP's that did the "agricultural" inspection of our Hueys at the end of D. Storm, and prior to when we put them on the boat to return to the US, were a Puerto Rican NG unit. It would be cool to see one of those brassards.

I've got this Team Spirit 87 MP Brassard. I took a search in the web about this  and found out that "Team Spirit Training Exercise" was a maneuver/exercise between the US Forces Korea and the South Korean Military. Strange to me is , why create a MP Brassard for about a 4 week exercise/maneuver ? political interests ? Would be interesting if someone of you can give me an answer.

Really nice armband, doughboy. These often function as a post-exercise remembrance. In fact, they’re sometimes even called “Morale Armbands”. So, used during the exercise, but kept after it is over.

Has anyone found a "CIC" armband like this before?  I found it at the swap meet last year. The seller told me he remembered some plain WW2 era uniform shirts, but they were small and unpatched so he left them.  I read it could mean "Counterintelligence Corps", which was very active towards the end of WW2 and would wear unpatched uniforms that didn't even show ranks, or it could be for the Navy's "Combat Information Center", which I cannot find any info for related to having special insignia during WW2. 

I know the British CIC wore armbands in this color, but the American version is white text on dark blue.

 

Thanks for posting, KommandoPo… That armband looks locally made. I’m afraid I can’t clarify its meaning for you. As you noted, the Counter Intelligence Corps often used white lettering on a blue background. Also I’ve seen these snap fasteners before, (but not the ones you posted):

This unit was in Vietnam from 1965 to 1971.

It definitely pays to shop around. Here is a bog standard WWII to immediately post-War Air Raid Warden armband along with a pamphlet:

 

 

The armband alone should sell for $10 to $20, max; while the pamphlet alone is in the $5 to $10 range. A seller on eBay is offering the set of two for an astonishing $200 plus $9.99 shipping. Don’t get burned, shop around!

Not actually an armband as such but a photograph of  ' Instructor Ranger School ' armbands in use at Camp Forest , Tenn. during WWII.  I purchased this interesting copy of the photograph from the National Archives around 1990 whilst conducting research there.  It shows a Sgt  J.R. Compton of the 94th Div and Lt. W.E. Vazzana of the 100th Div.
