December 15, 201015 yr #1 Here is a nice grouping belonging to Colonel Wm T. Starr, Cavalry. Col Starr served under Gen Devers in the 6th Army Group HQ as a liason officer with the French units under 6th Army Command, mainly French Cavalry units "Spahis" Prior to WW2 Col Starr served in the Army Reserves as a Cavalry officer. Among some notables that served with Colonel Starr in the 6th Army HQ, were Henry Cabot Lodge and Ali Khan, I think his claim to fame was being a rich international playboy and he married a hollywood actress possibly Rita Hayworth. The Bronze Star and Award Document as well as the French Croix de Guerre with Gold Star awarded to Col. Star by French Army General Del Lattre de Tassigny. There are photos of Colonel Starr recieving his decorations from General Devers and General de Tassigny. A couple of interesting documents out of his scrapbook, an invitation to a victory celebration by French Troops and passes to get inside Dachau concentration camp. Also in his scrapbook are photos of Herman Goering upon his surrender in the 6th Army area. Excuse my main title I think Edwin Starr was a singer from the 1960's.

December 16, 201015 yr #11 Nice group. There was a pretty interesting bunch of people in the HQ unit. A great group and fine display. The colonel sounds like an interesting research project. Jon
