I purchased these in a large set and was wondering if anyone could give me any info on their purpose and perhaps their value. I do have a invitation to a military ball for him and some pictures with his name on the envelope also. Thanks.

The one with all the rank on it looks like the typical USMC desk ornament that was popular from the 60's-80's. Looks like your guy was a mustang, correct?

Bonjour,

Your captain served in Vietnam as an engineer equipment officer. He entered in 1954 and been discharged in 1981.
