He "obviously" was with a B-24 Liberator group, the small photo in your first post, does it have any "Nose art" or Name/s? are there any other photos showing the B-24 rear fuselage/tail, I can tell you what Group if you have any like that,also ifyou can find what numbered AAF on his papers that would narrow down the possible B-24 units too.

I just added to the grouping. I picked up some paper work for Major William Elias. I have his Pilot Log Books. One is filled out. He joined the U.S. Air Corp in 1941. He was at King City , Chico, Graduated from Stockton Field in 1942. Was at Mather Field in 1943 and Ellington Field. He never left the States. I found out that he was promoted to 1st Lt. in 43 and promoted to Captain in 1946. He became a Major in the Air Force Reserves. I have lots of paper work from Stockton Field and Ellington Field. He flew all kinds of planes. from trainers to bombers and cargo aircraft. Here are some samples of the paper work I just picked up.
