Gents,,Ok,,as I've said before,,I'm not up on US stuff,,(I'm hardcore German WWII collector) but am trying to expand my horizons

I have this grouping from a soldier,,it has all of his uniforms, including long trench coat,, shirt,,pants,,all luandry marked to him,,

his PH,, with a bullet,,,(I assume the one they took out of him) and some of his legion items,,

any comments would be appriciated is 1st ID items rare or valued??

Thanks

Nice group!

Very nice group indeed! The BRO has always been one of my favorite Divisions.

Very nice grouping. I like divisions that participated in both WWI & WWII and I feel like they are worth slightly more than less famous/familiar divisions - I guess it depends on the collector. Lots of collectors like to obtain groupings from divisions that were once the national guard in their region (however, this may be because these divisional military items are more common in their region).

Either way, nice group to a purple heart vet.

Also, could you post close ups of the DUI's please? Are they overseas made? Thanks.

Nice grouping! And a Hoosier too! If I run across any information on him, I'll pass it along. ( and if I find any German stuff to trade, I know who I am going to first! )

The little enamel thingy

Distintive Unit Insignia. Also called a unit crest. Can be the patch type like the 17th or 1st Div patch like on the collar of the uniform.Or a design that differs from the patch that represents a unit/regiment etc with in the division.

Very nice little grouping Niblet. Good to see you are getting bitten by the "good guys" bug! I too started out as a TR guy only, but was turned to the "Good Side" of the collecting force some time ago! Watch out, this bug bites just as hard BTW!
