November 20, 200916 yr #1 You have to look at every detail when you found a uniform jacket. This uniforms looks like the same, but have different labels. First was "Air Police" the second "Security Police". Michael
November 20, 200916 yr #4 I think this is one of those Security Police only jackets that were used in the 70's. I've never seen one, but a guy on this forum, TSgt Mackey who was a sky cop wrote about them in a thread a year or two ago. Try his website and see what kind of info you can get. Here it is: www.tsgtmackey.com This jacket you show, is a different animal than the old Ike's worn back in the 50's by just about anybody in the Air Force. I'd like to know more about the one you have and some history on those jackets.

October 6, 2025Oct 6 #6 I think those jackets got issued sometime in 1977, not too long after the first of the police qualification badges started to show up. That's a different story. They came with those hooks on the bottom to hand our Sam Brown belts on. Most of us cut them off after a short time because it was a better fit with the belts where they should be, on our waists. At first we had to buy our own Sam Brown belts once they were finally allowed. We also were required to wear a tie with the jacket. Fortunately the uniform store had clip on ties.
