June 6, 200917 yr #1 Thought I would show two of my D-Day ID'ed helmets in honor of these two vets: First is USCB Master Carpenter, William F Burns, who headed a CB crew from the 1006th CB Battalion at Utah Beach. They were responsible for one of the sunken causeways. Second is Boatswain Mate Vernon Dawson, who was aboard US Coast Guard Cutter #4 and went i with the First wave at Omaha Beach. Hope we see the 70th anniv. of D-Day! Cheers to the Vets! Mike
