This sold on eBay recently which I tried for but got outbid. It was described as a USN 426th Submarine Squadron which doesn't exist. The green creature holding the torpedo looks more like an amphibian than a fish. If fish they named submarines after different kinds of fish during WW2 so SS-426 was the USS Tusk. Since destroyers also launched torpedoes during WW2 there was the DD-426 or USS Lansdale. There were no USN Flight Squadrons during WW2 using the numbers 426. There was a short lived USN torpedo boat the USS PT 426 built during WW2 but shortly after completion in 1944 was transferred under the Lend-Lease program to the Soviet Navy. Can anyone identify this patch?

Good eyes as I didn't look close enough and thought it was an amphibian tongue. So this must be one of their first patches. Many thanks for the identification.

The number 426 is on the nose of the torpedo.

i was bidding on this it went pretty high, I believe this is a USS Tusk SS 426 patch. Probably WW2 or just after. There used to be felt around the outside which probably would have brought the diameter up 5 inches i cannot find solid evidence anywhere online though
