June 28Jun 28 #1 Below is a Defense Supplies Corporation Victory model that shipped to Gar Wood Industries in Detroit, Michigan. Gar Wood Industries was started by Garfield Wood. Below is a link to his wiki bio. He reminds me of a Howard Hughes/Elon Musk personality. As you will see in the following pictures, Gar Wood Industries built several small boats/tugs for both the Army and Navy. Prior to WWII, Mr. Wood designed and built several champion racing boats using proceeds from his various inventions. I assume he was contracted to do similar work for the military during the war. His story is worth a read. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garfield_Wood The invoice for this revolver, serial number V120318, has it shipping March 27, 1943. The invoice has several interesting order details from various DSC approved programs. I am interested if anyone has a theory on why Gar Wood received 51 revolvers. Perhaps they went with each boat they sold or some other theory? I cannot imagine they needed a security force this large. Regards, Lyle
